My Thoughts

I have lived long enough to see many things change in my life. I have become very concerned to where our country is going. When I watched and listened to Michelle Obama during the DNC , What struck me was what she said that her grandmother had told her when she complained:” Do Something.” I have thought on this statement since then. I asked myself what can I do? I joined a breakfast group of like minded thinkers. I have started to call my senators twice a week to inform them of my dissatisfaction with the new cabinet members, The changes in our state constitution to make it harder for people to vote, to raise the minimum wage from 7.25 per hour to at least 18.50 per hour, To lower housing costs. I am appalled at the lies and discrimination that is becoming commonplace in our country . People have the right to be who they are! In my Home we believe Black lives Matter, Women’s rights are human rights, No human is illegal, Science is real, Love is love. When I think that all is lost somehow I am shown there are still good people out there. Blessed Be to one and all.

It’s sad because of the huge divide we have in politics right now.
Not that long ago I had Republican friends who were really decent people, however because of the current regime they have turned into a fascist cult, and it really seems as if they’re end goal is to hurt as many people as possible.
I feel that the usual diplomacy is getting us nowhere and that we are in for the fight of our lives.
We need to put as much pressure on our representatives as we can, and let them know that under no uncertain terms are we going to let them strip us of our fundamental rights.
